Saturday 25th April at St George’s Church Hall
Doors open at 6.30pm with dancing from 7pm to 10.15pm
Dust off those dancing shoes and come with the whole family
to join us to dance the night away in fine ceilidh tradition with a live
band. A hot supper will be served
during the evening and there will be a cash bar.
This should be a fun evening and is suitable for all ages
from children to grandparents!
Tickets are £12 per adult and £3 for students and children

Tickets for our ever-popular themed quiz, are now available, and are selling fast. It promises to be a fun evening and dinner is included with your ticket. Previous themes have included, ‘Allo Allo’ and James Bond. To find out what this year’s theme will be book your place, with either Carole Neal at carole@kenneal.co.uk or Peter Wright at piwright@hwca.com (You can book either as a table of 8, or as an individual, and we will find you a table of geniuses!)

The season of Advent got off to a magical start last Sunday at our annual Christingle service.
The church was packed and the chancel was festooned with oranges (of varying sizes!) , candles and sweeties. Rev’d Becky and her merry band of helpers, assembled the giant christingle and explained the meaning and symbolism of the orange, its red ribbon, the sweets and the candle. And there was a special sort of hush throughout the church as the lights were dimmed and the Christingles were lit. Singing ‘Away in a Manger’ by candlelight – it really did feel like Christmas.

Exploring Discipleship – As part of our Open House program of small groups, on
e group will be doing a four-week study based on Philippians. If you have not already been to an Open House Gro
up, why not try this? Its at 9 Ladwell Close, starting Monday, 29th October at 20.00 and finishing on Monday, 19th November. You would be very welcome!

Did you know that every Wednesday morning we have a service at St George’s particularly aimed at parents with their babies and small children?
All through the year we serve fresh coffee, tea, squash and biscuits (sometimes cake!) from 9am in the meeting room. There are toys for children and its a chance for parents to have a chat and a catch up over a coffee.
At 9.30 we hold a very informal service in the kids corner of the church, where there are more toys as well as baby mats and colouring things for the children, musical instruments to play during the songs, and fruit for children during communion. Its very low key, and very friendly. Just …
