St George’s remains active in prayer

Following the Government announcement on 23 March, St George’s church must now be closed to all visitors until further notice.

The vicar will come and pray in church each day for our community, our nation, and for the world at this difficult time.

 If you have a prayer request or would like a candle lit for a loved one, please phone  01635 524994 or 01635 45380.

Email messages can be sent to the office and will be forwarded automatically to the clergy

Lent Lunches Cancelled

Very sadly, our lent lunches have been cancelled following Church of England guidance about ceasing all catering. The good news is that the first two lunches raised over £200 for Christian Aid.

Coronavirus – the church is open, services are suspended

Coronavirus – the Church is open although services are suspended.

The advice from the Church of England was updated on Tuesday 17th March:

In light of the Government guidance around non-essential contact, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have issued advice that public worship is suspended until further notice.

Churches should be open where possible but with no public worship services taking place. Prayers can be said by clergy and ministers on behalf of everyone and churches should consider ways of sharing this with the wider community
