Thy Kingdom Come – a week of prayer from 10th-20th May

Article posted on 25 April 2018 Leave a Comment

Thy Kingdom Come is on all week at St George’s.  Do come into the church and have a look at the many and varied displays and aids to prayer.

Throughout the weeks these prayer stations will be up and the church open to any and all who would like to come and look around and share in the event.  The stations are to help us to think and to pray; light a candle for a loved one, walk the labyrinth or taste some different types of bread and a grape from the vine.  There are opportunities to contemplate change in our world or to post a question on the graffiti wall.  Children are very, very welcome and there is plenty for them to do.  Why not bring them after school to make a fluffy sheep and sow some seeds?

Refreshments are available at 2.30 every day and at 4pm prayers will be led from the Novena book – its not compulsory to join in, but any who are in church at this time are very welcome to if they wish.

Thy Kingdom Come will be on in church all week, and culminates on Pentecost Sunday (20th May) with a celebratory tea in the church at 4pm and bubble machine on the piazza by the north car park.  Please do feel very welcome to come into church and experience the week of prayer for Thy Kingdom Come, and please do come for tea on Sunday 20th.
